Company O, checked its account statement for the year, the words displayed on its screen looked like a Halloween trick or April fools.
It read simply: “zero”
The account balance glared like midnight, the 00.00 looked unbelievable.
The company realized too late that money had been stolen.
Company R, had shelves filled with boxes, yet no one knew where any particular item was.
Worse, they purchased the same equipment for the third time, only to discover they already had it stored.
They couldn’t understand how they kept forgetting what was in their own storeroom.
Company A’s workspace looked like a vintage library, old and new receipts, files, and papers stacked everywhere.
Some records were no longer readable, and others were missing.
The company relied on guesswork for budgeting, and the guesses were always wrong.
Company C, procrastinated and forgot an important project.
Deadlines were missed, materials ran out, and ongoing projects put on hold.
The company didn’t feel proactive at all and wondered how to change from procrastinating to productive.
Company L, noticed after the holiday break something worrying, many employees did not return to work.
It was then they realized they had forgotten to train new hires who were promised training,
and had also failed to approve leave for employees who were promised time off.
Company E, never noticed when something was wrong until the problem became large and unavoidable.

The look of these illustrations can be described by two words and two words alone:

These companies were in a state of disorder, confusion and surprises. They were in desperate need of a solution, that metaphorical silver lining.
